Solstice Lights - The South Hill One

Solstice Lights - The South Hill One

I'm so excited to share this Solstice Lights quilt using my fabric collection, South Hill with you all! Thing is, I've been designing quilt patterns for several years now and made a lot of patterns that I am super proud of. But I have a secret to share...

Solstice Lights is one of my top 3 favorites, shhhh...

I absolutely love all of the patterns I have designed, but there's something about Solstice Lights that holds a special place in my heart! It's fast, easy, and perfect for showcasing prints.

South Hill Fabric

I decided to sew up a Solstice Lights sample using my South Hill fabric collection to showcase the beautiful prints and color range in the collection.

BUT - instead of random block arrangement like I did for the original cover quilt, I chose to do an ombre/color progression arrangement. I love how the colors look because I feel like it really shows off the color story of this collection!

Long Arm Quilting

For the quilting, I wanted to pick something with a little bit of curves to soften up all the right angles on the pattern design. After looking for just the right quilting design, I landed on the Beaded Orange Peel pantograph! This longarm quilting was stitched by Jenn of Jenn B Quilts. She always does fabulous work and this quilt was just another example of that!

I decided to use a hot pink fabric for the backing - Sparkler in Raspberry - to pull from the pinks in the fabric and Navy Stripes from the South Hill collection for the binding for a nice contrast. Plus, who doesn't love a good stripey binding anyway?
