It's that time of the year - time for the yearly FREE Halloween quilt pattern! If you've been around here for the last few years, you know this is by now a yearly tradition. Simply put: I love halloween and I can't help but share a free halloween pattern every year.
First it was a Batty wall hanging, then a spiderweb table topper. Last year I shared a Witchy Feet pillow cover. This year, I'm back with a pillow cover (or wall hanging!) and keeping with the witchy theme, it features a witch's cauldron!
This year's pattern is a little later than usual because well... I can't quite believe it's September, never mind the end of September. This fall has already been so, so busy and I wasn't expecting it - BUT I DIGRESS.
I actually had the sketch for this witch's cauldron done in early summer, but I had to put it aside to take care of other things in my schedule. But thankfully, I saved it in just the right spot so it was easy to find when I was ready to make this cutie after Garden of Quilts.
For the fabric on this one, I picked all solids in similar colors to last year's Witchy Feet pillow - sans the orange. I also decided to do a binding on the pillow again - I've been really loving this look on my pillow covers this year. I'm low-key obsessed with this green for halloween so I had to use it again for the binding even though it was already in the bubbles.
As I mentioned above, this free pattern can be a pillow (as shown) or a wall hanging depending on your spooky decorating needs! Just look how good it looks on the wall, even unfinished!
I hope you love this Witch's Cauldron as much as I do and be sure to tag me on Instagram @cottonandjoy and use the hashtag #cottonandjoypatterns :D
