Riley Blake Block Challenge (2024)
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be joining the Riley Blake Block Challenge for the third year. I love being part of the Riley Blake designer team and love taking part in these challenges!
About the Challenge
Every year, Riley Blake Designs bring together a group of designers to create blocks that are released one at a time. The challenge started last month, but there's still plenty of time to join in on the fun!
The 16 block patterns are being release once a week and will come together into a gorgeous sampler quilt by the end of May.
Meet Framed Star
My contribution to this year's challenge is Framed Star! Similarly to last year's block, I wanted to play around with the classic Sawtooth Star block, but add some fun twists.
I broke up the classic Sawtooth Star shape and then added a fun "back" frame that peeks out between the points of the star.
For my sample block I used some of my favorite prints from my Moonchild fabric collection. I adore how the blues and purples play off each other in the design.
