Meet November's Pattern of the Month - Nordic Gnome!
Hey friends! I’m dying to introduce you to this month’s star quilt pattern - Nordic Gnome! 🎄 This little cutie first appeared during the 2021 Quiltmas QAL and quickly became one of my favorites. After that first block, it snowballed into a full pattern. Now here we are, celebrating it as November’s Pattern of the Month!
Since this is the featured pattern, we’re running a sale all November long. Check out the details further down - don't worry, no gnome tricks, just some solid savings!
About the Nordic Gnome Pattern
Designing Nordic Gnome was one of those happy accidents where everything just clicked. It all started with a block for Quiltmas, and soon I had folks asking, "When is this becoming a full quilt pattern?" How could I say no? Gnomes have a way of sticking around - and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
There’s something addictive about sewing these little hats and beards. Every block feels like it has its own personality, which makes the process both fast and fun. I went with two sizes for this pattern - table runner and throw quilt - because hey, sometimes you need a big snuggly gnome quilt, and sometimes you just want a few mini-gnomes watching over your dining table.
If you want to grab the Nordic Gnome pattern or check out the other featured Pattern of the Month products (spoiler: they are adorable), scroll down to the end of this post for all the links. But I'll list the quilt pattern goods here for ya to easily access:
Gnome Love in Non-Quilt Goodies
I’ve fallen so hard for this little design that it’s made its way into all kinds of other goodies in the shop - because honestly, how could you ever have too many gnomes? (Spoiler: You can’t.)
Nordic Gnome Needle Minders - Now in New Colors and Sizes
Say hello to Gnorman! This little guy will make sure your needle stays exactly where it’s supposed to. I decided to roll out some new colorways and sizes for these little needle minders this month, so grab one for yourself - or gift one to a friend so their needle doesn't mysteriously end up in the couch cushions again.
Nordic Gnome Stickers
These stickers are waterproof, dishwasher-safe, and, best of all, they’re full of gnome-y charm. Stick them on your sewing machine, laptop, or water bottle - basically anywhere you want a little extra gnome magic.
These needle minders and stickers are available year-round, but hey, now’s the perfect time to grab them while you’re deep in gnome mode.
The Versions of Nordic Gnome
The Cover Quilt - Bright and Playful
For the cover quilt, I wanted something festive without screaming Christmas! I picked solid fabrics, with Bleached Denim as the background to make the beards pop. The gnome bodies and hats got some bright blues, greens, reds, and purples - can't let these little gnomes not be stylish, ya know?
Katie from Modern Textiles finished this one with the Diamonds Loops panto, and it was love at first stitch.

The Scrappy Christmas Quilt - Holiday Fun
After finishing the cover quilt, I knew I had to go full Christmas mode. So I grabbed a Layer Cake of Riley Blake’s Old Fashioned Christmas collection and made a quilt so festive even Santa would approve. I agonized over the background fabric choice, but the charcoal gray won out - and thank goodness, because it makes those gnomes pop!
Jenn Smith from Jenn B Quilts saved the day with the Midnight Sparkle panto and matching thread. This one’s backed with a green print from the collection, finished with a red binding, and basically radiates holiday cheer. I love it so much and get so excited when I revisit this quilt each year!

The Spring Table Runner - Garden Gnomes, Anyone?
Who says gnomes are just for winter? For my spring version, I used scraps from my Daybreak collection to create a table runner bursting with floral cheer. These gnomes are officially off winter duty and ready to tend the garden!
This little guy came together so fast that I didn’t even have time to take process photos - just zipped it through with straight-line quilting and called it a day. I love how the pink-striped binding adds a playful touch, and it’s a reminder that gnomes can brighten up any season.

Bonus Project: Nordic Gnome Pillow
Short on time but still want to gnome things up? Try the Nordic Gnome pillow tutorial! It’s the perfect way to use up scraps, and honestly, it’s so quick to make that I forgot to take pictures of this one too (oops). You just sew the block, quilt it for texture, and finish it with back panels and some binding.
The result? A cute little pillow that’s perfect for snuggling and makes for the best holiday home decor.
