I am so excited to share my contribution to this year's Riley Blake Block Challenge! This is my fourth year participating in this fun sampler and I'm so thrilled with my block, but first, what's the challenge?
About the Challenge
Every year, Riley Blake Designs brings together some of its fabric designers to create blocks that are released one at a time at the beginning of the year.
This year 16 designers have contributed a block pattern that will be released throughout the first half of 2025. These blocks will come together into a gorgeous quilt by the end of May. Each block presents an opportunity to expand your skills and use some fun fabrics!
Meet Twirl
Here's my contribution to this year's challenge - Twirl! One of my favorite things about quilting is making striking designs with simple shapes.
Twirl uses half-square triangles to add movement to this block in a fun and darling block.
I used some of my favorite blues from my Between the Pages fabric collection for my sample, with a spot of coral for the center. I stepped out of my comfort zone and used a low volume instead of solid white for my background and I love how it looks!
