Read Pillow Pattern

If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for ways to sneak a little more quilting into your life - even in the smallest of projects. That’s exactly why I put together this Read pillow pattern! It’s a quick and fun project that lets you play with fabric while making something both cute and functional. Plus, it’s the perfect way to use up scraps (we all have that ever-growing scrap pile, right?).

This pattern was designed to showcase my Between the Pages fabric collection, which just felt right since books and reading have always been such a huge part of my life. I love creating little cozy reading spots around my home, and a quilted pillow like this is the perfect way to bring a handmade touch to a favorite chair, a book nook, or even a classroom reading corner.

A Perfect Project for Fabric Scraps

The Read pillow is a great way to use up smaller pieces of fabric - especially for the letters! Whether you have bits and pieces from past projects or you’re looking for a fun way to mix and match prints, this project gives you the freedom to get creative.

I stuck with Between the Pages for mine, but I can already imagine how fun this would be with bold solids, low volumes, or even a rainbow of scrappy goodness!

Size Options & Customization

The full Read pillow finishes at 24” x 24”, which makes it great for a reading nook, couch pillow, or even a classroom reading area. But if you’re looking for something smaller, you can totally forgo the borders and end up with a 20” x 20” pillow. Perfect for tossing onto a chair or bed!

Traditional Piecing - No FPP Required!

If paper piecing isn’t your thing - don’t worry! The READ pillow uses traditional piecing techniques, so no FPP is required. The letters are constructed in a way that keeps things simple but still gives that bold, modern look.
