I'm so excited to introduce you all to the first Cotton and Joy pattern of 2026 - Peach Street!
I never really imagined I'd designed a peach quilt pattern, but I'm so glad this quilt pattern is here. But first let's back up a little and talk about how we got here.
A Peachy Request
Back in the Spring of 2025, I got an email from the Riley Blake Design team, asking if I'd be interested in making a peach pattern. They were in the process of designing a peach-inspired fabric collection, Southern Charm, and one of the Sales Rep had seen my Orange You Glad table runner and thought "what if we changed it to peaches?".
Initially, I was a little hesitant because oranges and peaches, when distilled down to their basic shape are not that different – the question was, would the fabric make it read as peaches, or can they stand as peaches on their own? So, I opened Illustrator and got to playing. After a while, I landed on the basic shape and somehow succeeded in making sure these read as peaches, even without themed-fabric announcing them as such.

Initially, I was going to do another free table runner pattern, but I honestly fell in love with these peaches, and after mocking up a throw size and bed sizes, I knew I had to make it in a full pattern.
Sew Solid Peaches
From the get-go I knew this pattern wouldn't need to be out this spring, almost an entire year after designing it, so I scheduled the release and then worked on a thousand other deadlines (slight exaggeration). But then in January, I got out my Confetti Cotton Solids swatch card and started plotting my all-solids peaches quilt for the cover.
I looked at all the oranges, creamy yellows, and peachy pinks in the line so much that I think I went cross-eyed at one point. I ordered more colors than I strictly needed and made the final decision on colors once I had all of them in front of me – and then got to work!

Modern Curves Templates
While designing this pattern, I made sure to keep the curves at the same size as my previous patterns, so with this release, I've added another pattern that works with the Modern Curves Templates!
This made cutting alllll of those curves pieces a breeze and I was able to get sewing in no time!

It's been a while since I've cut and sewn curves – I think since late 2024 when Mod Dreams released..? – but it was like a riding a bicycle and I got into a groove in quickly. I honestly love how quickly this whole quilt came together. Before I knew it, I had all of my peaches together and it was time to decide how to quilt it.

Wavy Quilting
Since I started sewing this one kind of late in the game, I knew I wouldn't have time to send it to a long-armer and I'd need to quilt it myself. I debated a few options, including cross-hatch and my trusty straight-line quilting, but I ended up going with some wavy quilting on my Janome M8!
This stitch came with my machine and it's a little slower than straight-line quilting but I ADORE the texture it provides, plus I loved echoing the curves on the quilt design with the quilting.

Backing and Binding
For the backing, I originally considered another print, but I changed my mind at the last minute and went with the Tea Time in Marmalade print from my Homage fabric collection. Using this print felt like a kismet moment – my grandmother LOVED peaches and the Homage fabric collection was a tribute to her. There truly couldn't be a more perfect pairing.

For the binding, I kept it simple and used the darkest orange in the quilt top to give the whole quilt a strong frame.
I honestly could not be happier with how this quilt pattern turned out and I might have to take it to QuiltCon next year since it'll be in Atlanta, and I got the idea for the pattern name from the MANY Peach Streets and Peach Avenues in the city!
