Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. The pattern assumes the quilter knows basic piecing and is comfortable sewing curves.

This was the first time I have done curves in probably 7 years, and it was such a nice way to ease back into them! My quilt top looks amazing, and will be perfect for the new addition to a friends family this July. I plan to make a lemon/lime table runner for this summer as well! Wonderful easy to follow patter, great for crap busting!
I was very happy to find a citrus themed quilt to make for my friend's daughter. This pattern was easy to follow and I may adapt it in the future to make a limes or oranges quilt at some point. I used flannel fabric and chose to make my quilt size with 9 lemons as that allowed me to use one continuous piece for the backing. I also purchased the "Modern Curves" plastic templates from Cotton and Joy and that made the cutting so much easier. In addition, I really appreciated the Cotton and Joy videos and took their advice and used starch which helped with sewing the curved seams. I also always make a mini quilt so the new baby can use it when they grow up to cover their teddy bears or dolls. I included it in the pictures as well.
I have been eyeing this one for a long time and am so glad to finally make it! The instructions are awesome!
